Remember all the way back to your childhood where there was a place you stopped by after school for a milkshake and treat. Milk Cafe Milkbar (a family owned business) is much like that and really conjured some happy childhood memories for me. It's pretty close to my house being in the next suburb over and has off street parking which makes it very appealing for me to make this one of my children's favourite place's to go so they can have those same fond memories.
I visited Milk a while ago but just hadn't gotten around to blogging it with all the crazy happenings in my life of late. Never the less I'm excited to blog it now because even just looking at the pictures is making my mouth water and i'm thinking of heading in again soon.
They have a drinks menu that would quench any thirst listing a variety of coffees, milkshakes, smoothies, frappes and even spiders. To say that Austin enjoyed the malted milk milk shake he had would be an understatement. The treat range of ice cream, slices and baked goods in the front counter also provide a great variety for those with a sweet tooth. However I think the star of milk is definitely their burgers.

I went into Milk half expecting it to be average at best but really was I proved wrong. The burgers were so amazing in fact I don't think I've had a burger that good in ages. Wade had the lotta burger and I think I had the Brisbane lotta burger. It was so good. It was packed full of goodness with fresh salad, beetroot, tomato, beef patty, bacon, cheese and toped with a perfectly cooked sunny-side up fried egg in a crisp bun. The fillings were so fresh and crisp like the bun and even though there was so much packed into that burger it wasn't at all greasy or soggy like you'd expect... It was perfect and Wade attested to it as well.

The little boys shared a ham and cheese toastie wich like the burger was fresh and crisp set on turkish bread. The other highlight of our visit were their thick beer battered chips served with aioli. I have a penchant for a good chips and aioli so these definitely satisfied that craving. They had this almost sweet crispy taste to them and not only did we love them the boys did too.
Atmosphere wise it was very bright and open with lots of canary yellow and big graphics that the boys thought were great. There were high chairs available so Nash had somewhere to sit and the service was friendly and reasonably quick considering how busy this place is. Over all we really enjoyed lunch here and can't wait to go back. Austin was even stoked to be able to take the left over chips home in the cone they came in.
